Boise’s 2022 New Years Event Guide
Celebrate the new year Idaho style! With so many exciting locations hosting upcoming New Year’s parties and special events, visiting Boise during this time will not disappoint. If you don’t know what fun things are going on in the area here are a few gatherings that the locals are looking forward to.
Idaho Potato Drop
Starting at 6:00 pm, the 9th annual Idaho Potato Drop on New Year’s Eve is quickly approaching and all are welcome to ring in the new year live at the Idaho State Capitol. The Potato Drop has become quite popular over the past years. Those who attend enjoy listening to music, watching sporting events, and live art performances, but that’s not all.
The Potato Drop supports local businesses all around Idaho. Mobile food vendors serve delicious local foods and beverages throughout the park as well and there is even the option to become a VIP “Very Important Potato”. By gaining access to the VIP Room, guests are provided cocktails, Hors d’oeuvre’s, live entertainment, and a chance to win gift baskets through a raffle.
Come celebrate with EMCEE Austin Von Johnson and Yeti Abies, experience the Urban-Air 2022 Ski and Snowboard Exhibition, or take a picture with the Big Idaho Potato Tour truck and Spuddy Buddy.

Every year, the City of Caldwell decorates Indian Creek Plaza with over a million lights. From November 19- January 9, families enjoy the Winter Wonderland lights, ice skating, food trucks, vendors, and entertainment on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
