Now in its 11th year, Will Act 4 Food, organized by Daisy’s Madhouse Theatre, is a festival at Boise Little Theater that has a pretty unique characteristic. This is a festival in which short plays are written and rehearsed in 24 hours before they are performed on stage. Proceeds from the event benefits the Idaho Food Bank.
Plays will be performed as seven genres. Writers taking part in the festival will choose from comedy, farce, drama, mystery, romance, fantasy and a free choice. Will Act 4 Food is a charitable cause in which every dollar raised will provide for five meals. A ticket for two will provide for 150 meals for those in need throughout our local community.
Even in this day and age, hunger is still an issue that many in the world face. Here in the United States we may be better off than some other countries, but we are certainly not an exception.
Fighting Hunger in Idaho
This is an issue that is of particular importance during the winter season. The event’s Facebook page stressed that people struggling with hunger often have to make choices between paying for food or for heating, hence why the Idaho Food Bank makes the effort to help out. They also point out that after the holidays, donations of food – as well as volunteering and funds – begins to drop off.
If you want to be part of the cause to combat hunger in Idaho, not only can you help by purchasing tickets for the festival, you can also donate food and volunteer time to the food bank.
This event takes place on March 21st from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Boise Little Theater, which is located at 100 E Fort Street.
